In Hungary, emergency number is 112 (ambulance, police, fire). EU citizens can use their EHIC card for public hospitals. Non-EU tourists may need private care or to pay upfront (then claim via insurance).

Need medicine after dark? In Budapest, many pharmacies (gyógyszertár / patika) close early in the evening—but there are “emergency” or “0-24” ones that stay open or are reachable by buzzer when most others are closed.
