About the tour:
Discover Budapest’s Alternative Side
Step off the beaten path and explore Budapest through its vibrant street art and underground culture on this 2-hour small-group walking tour. Instead of the usual postcard views, we’ll dive into the murals, statues, and stories that shape the city’s present and future.
Our walk takes us deep into the heart of the Jewish Quarter — the epicenter of Budapest’s creative scene. Here you’ll find towering murals, thought-provoking street art, and the famous ruin bars, all of which grew out of the city’s post-war history and transformed abandoned spaces into hubs of art and community.
Highlights include:
The main murals of District VII
The legendary Szimpla Kert ruin bar
Works from the “Colorful City” art project
Hidden memorials and statues of the Jewish Quarter
Stories of famous abandoned buildings that were reborn
Join us to see a different side of Budapest — creative, raw, and ever-changing.
We’re looking forward to welcoming you on the tour! ✨
